My Story

Date into Rescue: Sierra came to CPR in June 2017. She was adopted out. Through no fault of her own, Sierra was returned to CPR on 1/10/2020.

Reason for being in rescue: Surrendered by owners due to life changes.

Special Needs: This dog is lightly heartworm positive (HW+). She will be sent home with a year supply of heartworm medication. She is being treated with a method called the slow kill treatment. She takes a monthly Ivermectin based heartworm preventative and needs to be re-tested for heartworms every 6 months. Once she tests negative, then she can take any kind of heartworm preventative; she is not restricted to Ivermectin based only.

What kind of home would be best for me: Sierra is looking for a home that will never let her go. She needs the companion of another dog so we are looking for a home with at least one other dog. Sierra is a quiet girl who will do best in a quiet home.

What is my personality like: Sierra is a sweet girl who has overcome so much and needs stability. She was originally found as a stray in TX and found her way to Dreamweaver Farms in South Carolina. She slowly learned to trust humans and found a home. Sadly, life changed for her owner and the new life does not include Sierra. So she is back at our rescue looking for her forever.

Sierra is a wonderful girl. She is a little shy when she first meets you, but her eyes are curious and her heart is full of hope. If you spend 5 minutes with this girl, she will be your best friend. Sierra is good on a leash and enjoys going for walks. She rides easily in a car. She has spent the last 2 years living with another dog and is happy with human and canine companion.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Sierra is shy when she first meets you, but she warms up really quickly. Sierra has so much love to share!

Tips and Tidbits: Sierra's estimated birthday is 5/4/2013

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
