Gladys came to Carolina Poodle Rescue as a very sick little girl. She is a diabetic whose medical issues had not been carefully managed. This is what our SOS program does - provides stable medical care and loving sanctuary for special needs dogs like Gladys. As a diabetic, Gladys is on vetsulin twice a day.
Gladys is a very sweet girl who has to be near you all the time. She has to sleep in bed (forget the crate she will cry for hours). She also LOVES all food but due to diabetes can have none of what she really wants. Gladys is blind but can find her way around rather remarkably by your voice and sound. At first meeting other dogs she doesn't care for them but will tolerate them after she shows them who's boss.
Gladys was probably an only dog and would be best as only dog because she's very clingy to her person. She loves sweaters, but really what sassy girl doesn't during the cold months?! You can literally do anything to her and she never complains. Gladys would just be content if you could hold her all day.
Can’t have a dog of your own? Have a soft spot for old, sick or hard to place dogs? It only takes a $20 a month donation for me to be your virtual dog! I need at least 10 virtual adopters (sponsors) to help cover my monthly costs. If I have medical challenges I need even more! r having to leave your home, you can have your very own online dog that will send you update emails, make Facebook posts, and be eternally grateful for your support! Go to the donate link at the top of the page for instructions as to how to donate. Questions? Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
