Sami came to Carolina Poodle Rescue when his family fell apart. Dad passed away and mom was unable to physically care for Sami or his brother, so very sadly he was surrendered into our rescue program .

Sami has had a lot of changes and is still settling in. He prefers being in a home to kennel life, and loves an oversized bed where he can cuddle and sleep. Sami is fine with most dogs, though he will snarl if another dog is in his face or startles him. He is completely indifferent to cats. Sami prefers soft treats.

Sami is really coming out of his shell in his foster home. He can be a really picky eater and prefers a rotation of cooked hamburger, warmed hot dogs, and green beans. He will very occasionally eat green beans. Sami is also more consistently asking for affection. He has a voice and he is not afraid to use it. But typically when he is barking it is because he wants food, or needs to go out, or just wants to be petted. Sami has even begun to sniff toys... we hope this will develop into an interest in playing with them.

Sami's behavior is still unpredictable. He is a very sweet boy, but he does bite. He is absolutely terrified of the vet, which manifests itself with lots of teeth. If he is startled at home he will also snap at you. Thankfully his teeth are not sharp so he isn't able to draw blood. Sami needs a really experienced, patient owner.

Can’t have a dog of your own? Have a soft spot for old, sick or hard to place dogs? It only takes a $20 a month donation for me to be your virtual dog! I need at least 10 virtual adopters (sponsors) to help cover my monthly costs.  If I have medical challenges I need even more! r having to leave your home, you can have your very own online dog that will send you update emails, make Facebook posts, and be eternally grateful for your support!  Go to the donate link at the top of the page for instructions as to how to donate.
