My Story

Date into Rescue: 3/31/2018, adopted and returned 8/3/18

Reason for being in rescue: Owner release to a SC shelter/health of wner

Special Needs: Had a small tumor on one side which has been removed

What kind of home would be best for me? Buddy needs someone home a good bit of the time.  He loves people and wants only to be with you.  He would be a good companion dog to another dog although he's not a player.  He's a hang out kind of guy. Owner Experience 3: First time dog owner but has lived with a dog as an adult and participated in their care.

What is my personality like: Buddy is a simple, easy going kind of guy who wants to hang out, play some bridge, go for a long, leisurely walk and then settle down to an evening of home activities.  He loves attention, he loves to be petted and touched and he loves to be talked to.  He sleeps in a crate here and he knows to settle down.  He eats in a crate here but once he is done eating, he's ready to get right back at your feet.  Buddy is a typical small poodle - people are cool and he wants them in his life.  If you want to abuse him, ignore him.  It'll crush him.

How do I act when I first meet new people:  A little shy.  He'll come up to you and take treats from you but he's not all over you at first.  Give him a few days and he will be.

Tips and Tidbits: Buddy would be great to teach a new dog owner how to be a dog owner.  He would not mind if you worked.  He'll keep the home light on for you.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
