Meet An Adoptable Dog
Breed: Border Collie / Great Pyrenees / Mixed (long coat)
Weight: 51.4 lbs
Height: estimated 24 in
Estimated Birthdate: 3/23/2014
Fence Needed: No
Location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC
Date into rescue: 4/4/2018
Reason for being in rescue? Rescued from a SC shelter. Harley Quinn was found as a stray and landed at the shelter.
Special Needs? This dog is lightly heartworm positive (HW+). Harley is being treated for heart worms using the fast kill method with Immiticide injections. It is very important to restrict physical activity until she is cleared.
What kind of home would be best for me? Harley Quinn would do well in any high energy family with or without kids and pets. This dog will be a family treasure one day to one very lucky family. She is too sweet and precious not to have a home.
What is my personality like? Miss Harley Quinn is an absolute doll baby. She is a favorite here at the farm, it's hard not to fall in love with her! Harley is full of life and a boundless energy that she isn’t allowed to express yet due to her being on heart worm treatment. Harley is on an aggressive form of heart worm treatment and has to remain calm for a few more weeks yet, but she doesn’t let that stop her from loving on you! We do not think she has a mean bone in her body, and she does well on a leash but does pull. It's possible that any leash difficulties she may have now are just her trying to get out some of that pent up energy. Harley Quinn is smart and thoughtful. A caregiver brought her a stuffed bear when she got here, and she offered to put it in his lap after he gave her a treat.
How do I act when I meet new people? Very friendly.
Tips and Tidbits:
House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.
Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
