My Story

Date into Rescue: 5/16/18

Reason for being in rescue: Sylvia was surrendered by owners who could not afford to care for her.

Special Needs: yes, Sylvia came to us lightly heartworm positive.  As of June 2019 she is now testing negative for heartworms!  She has been treated using the slow kill method.

What kind of home would be best for me: We are seeking a active home.  Sylvia also needs a home with adults that are experienced with high energy dogs. She would do best in a home with a large high energy dog like herself. Due to her energy level, she can overwhelm small children and would do best in a home with older, dog savvy kids.

What is my personality like: Can you say Rambunctious! This girl wakes up in the morning and hits the ground running! Sylvia has no fear of anything and will take on any adventure she can. She has raised her babies, and now she is ready to experience life for herself.  Sylvia loves treats and toys, but does not know any basic commands besides sit. If there is a treat involved, she is willing to learn!

Update as of 7/30/2019 - Since Sylvia has been in the kennel area, she has calmed down a little but has also gained a lot of weight.. she could loose a few pounds!

How do I act when I first meet new people: Never meets a stranger and doesn't think twice about introducing herself.

Tips and Tidbits: Sylvia and her 3 puppies came into the rescue as an outside dog that did not receive much training or attention. She LOVES people and just wants to be with them 24/7. Sylvia does well meeting other dogs, but can be picky about who she wants to be friends with. Sylvia does need work with walking on a leash, she likes to be the leader and pull you along to the next adventure.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
