My Story

Date into Rescue: 6/23/18

Reason for being in rescue: stray, Georgia shelter

Special Needs: Yes, Fifi's left eye has chronic keratitis, probably from old injury, but does need cyclosporine eye ointment applied daily.

What kind of home would be best for me: Fifi is a great dog with a wonderful personality that would fit well in a somewhat active household.  She does like to play and interact with people, but is not an overly hyper dog.  Fifi would do best with an adopter that wants a smaller companion dog to cuddle with and to take on outings as well.

What is my personality like: Fifi is a cute, fun loving dog. Fifi loves all kinds of toys-squeaky toys, rope toys, tennis balls, etc. She loves to play tug of war!  She will pick up a toy and ask you to play with her.  Fifi gets along with other dogs, but she doesn't play with other dogs.  She prefers to play with people.  Fifi also loves to go on walks.  She pulls a little when she gets excited, but otherwise walks well on a leash.  Fifi is a moderately active dog, she likes to play and enjoys her walks, but also likes to snuggle up on the couch with her person and watch TV.  She likes belly rubs and back scratches.  Fifi is currently in a foster home, and foster mom says that Fifi is doing great with her house training and uses the doggie door to go outside and do her business.

How do I act when I first meet new people:  Fifi can be a shy with new people, but she warms up quickly.

Tips and Tidbits:

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
