My Story

Date into Rescue: 7/2/18

Reason for being in rescue: Owner release- can't care for

Special Needs: none noted

What kind of home would be best for me: Holly is a shy dog who takes a little bit to warm up. She needs a patient, experienced owner who will give her time to come out of her shell. Holly is looking for a quiet home where she can go on daily walks and be someone's lap dog. She would be fine with other dogs or as an only dog.

What is my personality like: Holly is believed to be a possible Chihuahua/ Min Pin mix. She is a total lap dog. Her trust does need to be earned, but it's not all that difficult to win her over. A few treats and a little patience and she will be all yours. Her ideal home would be one where she could doze off on a nice comfy couch and have someone to love her as much as she loves them. Holly walks great on a leash, and really enjoys going for walks. She does know how to sit and she is overall well behaved. She is great with other dogs and cats but she does not play with them- she tends to mind her own business and she is pretty content with that. Holly was an owner release to CPR due to the owner's declining health. Her owners regretfully had no other choice and only want the best for her. Holly has only been here a few days but she is slowly coming around! We have noticed that Holly can be a bit of a drama queen. She does not like her feet being messed with and will whimper when done so.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Shy

Tips and Tidbits:

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
