My Story

Date into Rescue: 07/07/2018

Reason for being in rescue: Lovingly surrendered by his owner who could not provide the care Prince needed any longer

Special Needs: Prince has Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Since he has been with us, we have been giving him a medicine called Metro and he is eating ID Digestive Care food. Since doing this, we have not seen any bowel issues out of Prince.

What kind of home would be best for me? Prince is accustomed to being the baby of the family. He needs a home where he will be the only dog. He bonds quickly and will bark and cry when his person leaves him. Prince is all Yorkie, and would love a Yorkie person that understands him! Owner Experience Level 4: Second or third dog, no experience with behavior or medical issues other than routine end of life issues

What is my personality like: Prince was purchased as a puppy and has been a beloved family pet his entire life. His owner had no other choice than to surrender him to CPR because she could no longer afford his bowel issues. Since Prince has been with us, we have been giving him medication along with Digestive Care food and has responded well to that. This little boy is a lap dog if you've ever seen one! He adores people to the fullest extent and gets attached quickly. Once he is attached, he does not like to be without you and would love to go with his humans on their adventures.Although, he feels threatened by bigger dogs and will go after them.. He has been great with the small dogs he has been around. Prince walks well on a leash, is crate trained (but will whine), and rides well in a car. He does like stuffed toys but prefers to be in a persons arms!

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly but a little shy at first.

Tips and Tidbits: Prince has medical needs. Please check the "special needs" section above.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
