Meet An Adoptable Dog
Breed: Beagle / Boxer (short coat)
Weight: 28.6 lbs
Height: Estimated 25 in
Estimated Birthdate: 7/20/2016
Fence Needed: No, but she will need plenty of exercise.
Location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC
Reason for being in rescue: Rylee was found as a stray in SC and landed at a shelter. CPR pulled her from a local shelter.
Special Needs: Rylee has just completed heartworm treatment using a slow-kill method. She will need to be on monthly heartworm prevention without exception for the rest of her life.
What kind of home would be best for me: Rylee needs a home with a family that has experience with high energy dogs. This girl needs an active lifestyle and a family that wants a dog that will always want to be playing and snuggling!
What is my personality like: Rylee is a bouncing ball of joy! She has absolutely no reservations about meeting people and will jump right into your arms. It is hard to believe she was ever a stray. Rylee arrived at the rescue a little too thin and with a large wound on her back from some kind of burn. The veterinarian said her scar is healing and we are using Aloe to help with the process. Rylee is highly treat motivated and has the willingness to learn new things!
Rylee reminds us of a school cheerleader, she is always SUPER active and bubbly! She does not and nor will she ever think twice about meeting a stranger. If someone thinks overly affectionate dogs are annoying then Rylee would not be the one for them.. because all she wants to do is play and lick you too death! She is great with other dogs, and doesn't mind the cats.
Rylee would make a great hiking partner and would love to meet all of the different kinds of people out there. Her only reservation is water.... this princess will find any way around a creek that keeps her toes dry! Although it is hard to get her to sit still she will literally do anything for a treat. She can sit and lie down.
Rylee has been around children ages 7-10 and absolutely adores them. She does great with dogs but can be irritating to the older dogs that do not appreciate her outgoing, playful personality.
How do I act when I first meet new people: The more people she can meet, the happier she is!
Tips and Tidbits: Estimated Birthdate: 7/20/2016. Even though Rylee arrived in rough shape, it still has not stopped her from loving humans.
House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.
Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
