My Story

Date into Rescue: 10/19/2018

Reason for being in rescue: Salem as found as a stray and landed at our rescue for a safe place.

Special Needs: none noted

What kind of home would be best for me: Salem Mystery is a cat lover's dream. She is calm, regal, and very well mannered. Salem Mystery could live happily in a home with dogs or other cats, or be content as an only. We are looking for a home where she will be an indoor cat.

What is my personality like: Salem Mystery was given her name because it was like one day she just arrived out of nowhere and no one could figure out where she came from! After a little digging we learned that she was found as a stray by someone who brought her to the rescue.  Given that most cats are hard to read, Salem isn't at all. All she wants is a leg to wrap around and some time to explore outside.

Salem is a go with the flow kind of girl. She lives happily at a dog rescue, not giving a moment's notice to the dogs that she shares living quarters with. She minds her own business and is most content to hang out with humans. Salem does also live with our 2 other office cats at Dreamweaver Farms and is fine with them. She strongly prefers a more mellow cat companion to a wild kitten.

Salem never meets a stranger, and is very social for a kitty! We have never seen her play with toys, but she will take treats if you place them on the ground for her to get.  She is crazy about her cat food and turns into a chatty Cathy when she wants something... (mainly food). Salem will go to the door and meow when she wants to go outside, If you want her inside all you have to do is have the door open, call for her and she will come running. You can pretty much do whatever you want to with Salem. You can pick her up, brush her, and love on her. After a few minutes, she is ready to get down and wander off to do her own thing. She is a sweet, gentle cat that is going to make some cat lover very happy

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly

Tips and Tidbits:  Salem's est birthdate if 10/19/13 but this is just a guess.  We have no idea really. She is not a senior and not a kitten.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
