My Story

Date into Rescue: 11/13/2018

Reason for being in rescue: Found as a stray in Duncan SC

Special Needs: earws need watched for ear infections, right upper molar is fractured, right now it does not appear to be painful but may have to be removed in the future

What kind of home would be best for me: Colby just wants a relaxed home with someone to curl up next to.

What is my personality like: Colby came into the rescue extremely matted and seemed like he had not been cared for in a while. Given his circumstances, you would think that he would have been very timid, or angry (rightfully so), but instead all he wanted and still wants is a gentle hand and someone to give him affection. Colby isn't hard to please at all.. all he asks for is a human to love him, a soft blanket to curl up in and to be fed. He does not care to go outside or play with the other dogs and just wants to daydream his days away. Colby would make the perfect dog for someone looking for a companion to take it easy with!

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly

Tips and Tidbits: Colby was doing a meet and greet a few weeks ago and all was going well until the brand new pet owners put him in the car. We think they must have grazed his ear because he snapped and bit so we took him back out of the car and took him to the vet and found the deep seated ear infection.  He is sweet and happy 99% of the time but he is a very old man and we want you to know that sometimes when your a little older you may be grumpy.  Please note Colby is microchipped.  However his owners did not change their contact info on his chip so we can not find them.  He has been here a while and it's time for him to be able to start a new life.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
