My Story

Date into Rescue: 1/30/2019

Reason for being in rescue: Owner release due to financial issues and loosing home.

Special Needs: Liefr had his teeth cleaned and had 6 removed - and he has others that are missing.  Sometimes we find when a dog has a major dental he will need some follow up work in a few months.  His mouth needs to be watched to insure ongoing good dental health.  It will extend his life.

What kind of home would be best for me: Sweet Liefr is happy and bouncy and eager to find a lap to call his own.

What is my personality like: Liefr is one of those dogs who come up to you, look at you and then suddenly you have a new BFF.  He is very affectionate with all the people he has met.  He can be a bit pushy with dogs but only because he gets too excited.  After a bit he calms down immensely.  I've not seen him be a player yet but he co-exists peacefully.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly and ready to be yours for life.

Tips and Tidbits: Liefr will need some house training help as he's been intact a long time and those hormones are still on go.  He wears a belly band well and he is clean in his crate.  He has no problems at all with cats (full disclosure - he is smaller than our cats!). He would be good with other dogs or on his own as long as he gets a lot of love from his people.

I have not yet tried Liefr on a leash.  I don't know if he has experience on a leash but I think he would learn quickly.

And don't you just love those expressive ears.

Note - Liefr has 4 brothers also looking for homes.  We're writing their descriptions as fast as we can.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
