Meet An Adoptable Dog
Breed: Pomeranian (medium coat)
Weight: 8 lbs
Height: 8 in
Estimated Birthdate: 2/26/2011
Fence Needed: No
Location: Foster Home in Rocky Mount, NC
Reason for being in rescue: Hunter was part of a group of dogs seized from a home. CPR partnered with a local shelter to help these animals.
Special Needs: Hunter has something going on with one eye - the vet called it a opacity and we are not sure why - one eye is cloudy. It does not seem to affect his quality of life at all.
What kind of home would be best for me: Hunter is an easy going boy who would love a home with a retired family. Snuggles, naps and snacks on constant repeat are this boy's motto. He would enjoy children that come to visit, but prefer a home where his humans are adult. If you are looking for a daily walking, nightly snuggling kind of companion, Hunter is happy to be your man!
What is my personality like: We fell in love with Hunter the moment we walked into the room. He has a beautiful butterscotch color, greets you with a happy tail and smile, and is as gentle and affectionate as they come. Even during the toughest of days for him, he managed to captivate everyone around him with a smile through the darkness.
Hunter doesn't know much about basic commands or walking on leashes. He prefers to be held and would just assume sit on you as in front of you doing tricks. He is motivated by love. Pick this boy up and he will nuzzle right into you and stay there. Offer him a lap and he dances to be placed in it. House training is still a work in progress, but belly bands help little boys with that. Hunter is a great boy who will reward his family highly with love and affection!
How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly
Tips and Tidbits: Sweet Hunter steals every heart he meets. Who can resist this puffy, fluffy ball of cuteness:
House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.
Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
