My Story

Date into Rescue:  7/08/2019

Reason for being in rescue:  Owner surrender

Special Needs:  Chachi arrived at Dreamweaver Farms with very large inguinal hernias. She had surgery twice to have these removed and has fully recovered.

What kind of home would be best for me:  Cha Chi is curious about life. A home where there is activity would suit her desire for interaction. A fenced yard would be good due to her young age. However, she would work well in an apartment with frequent walks. Cha Chi would enjoy travelling and be out and about, so she is perfect for a travelling retired couple. She is ready to live life with you. Cats don’t cramp her style either.

What is my personality like:  Cha Chi is the spunk of any crowd. Look out - she will definitely be looking for something to do. She likes to escape her crate in our medical clinic and go find the cat food. Can she figure out what to do when bored - you bet, be prepared to have a busy little lady in the house.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly, she is ready to meet you and will be begging you for treats.

Tips and Tidbits: (03/08/2014) We believe Cha Chi has had no leadership in her life and needs an experienced owner who is ready for a lively girl. Cha Chi came from a hoarding situation in July 2019 where she only knew a life of having babies. She hasn’t let that stop her from being ready for a lap or snuggle with her kennel mate, Annabelle. This tells us she would do great in a home with multiple dogs, but she needs to be the leader. Cha Chi is confident without being dominant or aggressive.

Cha Chi is a short haired Chihuahua. Her coat requires little maintenance and will shed. She will also need regular dentals as she gets older. Cha Chi has plenty of years to be your best friend as Chihuahua’s can live up to 20 years with good care.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
