Meet An Adoptable Dog
Breed: Poodle (Miniature) / Mixed (long coat)
Weight: 16 lbs
Estimated Birthdate: 9/5/2016
Fence Needed: No
Location: Foster Home in Rocky Mount, NC
Reason for being in rescue: Wake County Animal Center
Special Needs: Snow Queen has hair loss on the back of her body from flea dermatitis. She is now on regular flea and tick preventative and her hair is growing back in.
What kind of home would be best for me: Snow Queen is looking for a female-only home where she will be the only dog. She would be fine with cats. Snow Queen also needs a strong and patient owner. She cannot be pushed and takes time to warm up and trust.
What is my personality like: Snow Queen has lived a very sheltered life. Her mom did the very best that she could for her dogs, but had issues bigger than herself and sadly had to give up her dogs. While Snow Queen has been sheltered, she has also been loved. Very loved.
Snow Queen is a sweet girl. She loves to snuggle in a lap and gives the best kisses. She is living in a foster home with other dogs, but really wants to be the only princess. Snow Queen has not had much exposure to men and does bark at them. This will likely improve with socialization.
Snow Queen is slow to warm up. If you push her she will growl and show teeth. If pushed too far she will bite. Snow Queen needs a patient home that will give her time to build trust and confidence that life will be okay.
How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly toward men. Snow Queen will bark at men and children out of fear. It is just noise.
Tips and Tidbits: Snow Queen estimated birthday is 09/16/2016.
House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.
Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
