My Story

Date into Rescue:  10/9/2019...Parker will be ready for adoption after his vet visit 10/29/19

Reason for being in rescue: Stray, Cumberland County AC

Special Needs: Parker will have a vet visit 10/29. Right now he seems perfectly healthy. This note will change if anything out of the norm is found

What kind of home would be best for me: Parker would do well in a variety of homes who can handle a fun boy. He is full of energy and would be a great companion for a child over the age of 12 who is looking for their best friend. Parker does not have basic training commands. Poodles need active mental stimulation as well as physical stimulation, we believe Parker is missing the mental activity his brain requires. Parker would do well on his own or as a buddy for the right dog who is seeking a playmate.

What is my personality like: Parker is a happy, gregarious young man who is wide open to love, light and affection.  He needs it.  He wants it.  He is looking for his BFF and he's satisfied it's you the first time he meets you.  He loves his caregivers - all of them.  He loves his visitors (our volunteers) - all of them.  We have not found anything Parker does not love.  He greets everyone with a smile when walking into the kennel.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Parker says let's go and play! He is ready to rough and tumble to get his energy out. He quickly calms down and is eager to please everyone. He needs some leash walking skills but that will come in time.

Tips and Tidbits: 10/8/14 is Parker's estimated birthdate.

No one came looking for Parker at the animal shelter. We find this hard to believe, our best guess is he wandered too far from home. He needs to be watched very closely during the first few weeks in his new home.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
