My Story

Date into Rescue:  12/19/2019

Reason for being in rescue:  owner passed away, Maggie Fifi was found under house

Special Needs: This dog is lightly heartworm positive (HW+). She will be sent home with a year supply of heartworm medication. She is being treated with a method called the slow kill treatment. He takes a monthly Ivermectin based heartworm preventative and needs to be re-tested for heartworms every 6 months. Once he tests negative, then he can take any kind of heartworm preventative; he is not restricted to Ivermectin based only.

What kind of home would be best for me: Magi Fefe is looking for a quiet home where she can relax and be someone's princess. A home with lots of activity would not be ideal for her. Magi would benefit from a home where her owners are often at home and understand what shy dogs need to come out of their shells.

What is my personality like: Magi Fefe is as sweet as they come. She can be shy but does not have a mean bone in her body. She asks for attention by patiently waiting at your side. She is not the type to be pushy and in your face asking for love. She will wait and watch you. Magi gets along well with small dogs and cats. We have yet to try her with large dogs, but we suspect she will do just fine.

Magi is quiet and calm in her crate. She is the type of girl who just wants to sit and watch the world. She needs a home that can offer her a quiet resting place for her senior years and show her a soft, loving hand. Magi does like to explore and would benefit from a fenced in backyard. She walks well on a leash, but will not need 5 mile walks. A slow stroll around the neighborhood is all she needs.  We don't know what was in Magi Fefe's past, but we do know she has lots of potential for her future family.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Magi Fefe is shy at first and can seem aloof. Don't take it personally! This is all new for Magi and she is still adjusting to life changes. Once she knows you, Magi will patiently sit at your side and wait for attention.

Tips and Tidbits: (12/16/11) We estimate Magi is around 9 years old.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
