Biography

Paulie is one of the many dogs who call Dreamweaver Farms home.  Brought to us in August of 2006, Paulie belonged to one of the most horrific dog producers we've had to deal with.  I was told that she had developed a new system of dealing with the dogs as she aged and did not feel like taking care of them. She cut a hole in her kitchen floor and threw food down to the dogs who were in the basement.  This is how Paulie spent his first 10 months of his life.  Is it any wonder that he was terrified of us when he got here.

Paulie has learned how to live in his world here and he loves us in his own way. We get many happy barks in the am and he is now willing to take treats from our hands - but only at arms length.  He does not invite petting, but will gently nudge you from behind if he thinks you can't turn around fast.  We stand still for those precious nudges.

In 2009 an angel came into my life.  Her name was Heidi and she was the most beautiful white standard poodle I had ever seen. Heidi had been many places and knew many things I had only dreamed of.  Mostly she had been a mama dog many, many times over and knew how to take care of young pups with no experience.  She looked at me and said “this young man is bigger than my other puppies but he needs some looking after” and she took me under her paw and she told me what to do to fit into this house place.  She is marvelous!  She loves me and takes care of me.  Where Heidi goes, I will always follow.

Heidi is now 12 years old and the Fairy Dogmother has worried about the transition when she goes over the bridge but she think Luna is grown up enough now to become his new bff. He listens well to her.

Sponsorship

Can’t have a dog of your own? Have a soft spot for old, sick or hard to place dogs? It only takes a $20 a month donation for me to be your virtual dog!  I need at least 10 virtual adopters (sponsors) to help cover my monthly costs.  If I have medical challenges I need even more!  The caregivers at Carolina Poodle Rescue will do the rest.  Just think, without ever having to leave your home, you can have your very own online dog that will send you update emails, make Facebook posts, and be eternally grateful for your support!  Go to the donate link at the top of the page for instructions as to how to donate. Questions?  Email: cprsosdogs@carolinapoodlerescue.org
