Peyton is a permanent SOS dog and is not available for adoption.
Peyton was brought in to a vet’s office to be groomed but her owners never came back for her. Peyton suffers from either neurological damage due to a brain injury or vestibular disease due to untreated ear infections.
Peyton is mostly deaf and blind although I now think she has some hearing. She lives in a silent world all her own and she does not interact with the other dogs. The only time she makes a sound is when she has a seizure and even then they are mostly quiet. She loves to eat and loves to march around the carport that is her safe area. We also occasionally let her wander in the kitchen and dog room, getting her exercise in her own way.
Living with Peyton is a bit like living with Helen Keller must have been. She eats and drinks and she knows you are there but she really doesn't know how to respond. If someone worked with her daily to stimulate her neurological system as it exists she may improve but she may not. She is young and healthy otherwise and so we will provide her a safe place to live as long as she has.
Can’t have a dog of your own? Have a soft spot for old, sick or hard to place dogs? It only takes a $20 a month donation for me to be your virtual dog! I need at least 10 virtual adopters (sponsors) to help cover my monthly costs. If I have medical challenges I need even more! r having to leave your home, you can have your very own online dog that will send you update emails, make Facebook posts, and be eternally grateful for your support! Go to the donate link at the top of the page for instructions as to how to donate. Questions? Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
