Teach was picked up as a stray in Columbia, he was very matted and had to be shaved down. He is very timid, but we are still getting to know him.

Teach was highly heartworm positive when he arrived (though we were not surprised) and he has had the injections so we are now just waiting for a negative test.

Teach had not been dealt a good hand before he came to us. His behavior reflects this greatly. He does not know what it's like to be loved by a human - someone has been very bad to him in his past, and it is going to take a long time to turn him around, but it can and will be done. He hides in corners, nips at ankles (on occasion and when excited), and tremors when you touch him. He really means no harm, of course, he just doesn't know how to be a normal happy dog yet.

Teach has come a long way since he first arrived, but he still has a VERY long way to go. He will warm up to be a sweet boy one day - we are sure of this.

Can’t have a dog of your own? Have a soft spot for old, sick or hard to place dogs? It only takes a $20 a month donation for me to be your virtual dog! I need at least 10 virtual adopters (sponsors) to help cover my monthly costs.  If I have medical challenges I need even more! r having to leave your home, you can have your very own online dog that will send you update emails, make Facebook posts, and be eternally grateful for your support!  Go to the donate link at the top of the page for instructions as to how to donate.
