Looking for a sweet dachsund-chihuahua puppy? That’s me!

Wayne was found as a stray in a North Carolina town and then taken to a local shelter where CPR stepped up and decided to take him in. After all, he shares the name of our favorite Dogfather, Wayne Ezzell, one of our founders. Wayne (the dog not the Dogfather) was 2 hours away from euthanasia when a CPR intake coordinator, at the shelter to pick up a poodle, was introduced to him and agreed to take him in also. The technician in charge of Wayne’s care was overjoyed with his squeaking out just in the nick of time. She really liked the little guy and felt he had potential but there are far too many chihuahua mixes in our shelters. Wayne is one of the lucky ones.

Wayne is still very much a puppy, so he is seeking a home where his people are home more than they are away so he can continue learning and socializing. He would do best as an only dog.

What is my personality like? Wayne is full of energy and walks around with confidence. Nothing fazes him! He enjoys going for walks but meeting other dogs is something he needs to learn is okay. He is okay with little dogs in his foster home but seems to have the attitude with bigs that the bigger they are the harder they fall. Wayne thinks he is the big boss around town and most dogs do not appreciate that. But that’s a chihuahua – larger than life always. I would say he is a typical young sweet chihuahua who is going to lay his heart at the feet of the right person. He loves attention just as much as he loves other physical activities.

House trained?  Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn’t keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours.  We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
