How do I adopt a pet?
Adopting a pet through Carolina Poodle Rescue begins with filling out an application via our website. We strive to have your application to an adoption counselor within 24-48 hours. However, our Counselors are all volunteers. Most have jobs and do their part to help us. There are times when we have a backlog of applications.

Are there any adoption requirements?
Yes. We view our role as matchmakers between you and our available dogs. We have a number of requirements for adoption, most of which are outlined on our Frequently Asked Questions page.

I′m approved to adopt - what next?
After you are approved and we have determined that we have a match for you, we will send you an invitation by email visit our kennel. If the dog you are interested is in a foster home, the foster home will contact you to see if you are a match. You will then work out with the foster home a good time to meet.

Vet Q&A: Are pets for adoption healthy?
All of our pets are up to date on shots and physical exams. We do take in dogs that have special needs such as diabetes, epilepsy, and others. We also take in and treat dogs that are heartworm positive. Any medical needs for dogs are clearly stated on our website in the dog’s description and are discussed with approved adopters prior to finalizing an adoption. We take the health and well-being of animals very seriously.
