My Story

Date into Rescue: 8/23/2017

Reason for being in rescue: Stray- nc shelter

Special Needs: Ollie has no known medical issues but is very strong willed.  He despises other dogs and cats and needs to be in a home where he does not have contact with other canines or cats. He will attack other dogs.  It is sad because he was not like this originally but something changed.

What kind of home would be best for me: Hmmm.. I'm really not hard to please. Just give me attention and let me lay around on the couch with you!  I love people, I love living in a house and I love being part of your life.  I am a lot of dog - you won't need another one if you have me.

Ollie is going to be amazing in the right hands.  Our owner experince level for Ollie is an

8 - More than 10 years as dog owner and preferrably with a terrier breed. Has taken at least three professional training courses. Long history of superior vet care. No history of rehoming or rehoming only for serious lifestyle challenge, worked through reputable rescue to place and follows up.

What is my personality like:  I'm Ollie Beckett and if my name wasn't already cute enough.. just look at my sweet face. I was found a stray in North Carolina and taken to a local shelter. I was actually just saved in the nick of time... I was making my way to be sent to doggie heaven until the lady walking me to "the room" saw my tail wag and it was all over from there. She begged and of course CPR said yes!

I'm a silly boy that loves all humans. I can't possibly give out enough hugs for everyone around here. I will love you through the good times, and bad times. I will be your best friend through it all, given the chance. I walk well on a leash but I love love love sniffing everything I can so please let's make some walks slow walks.  I don't know any basic commands yet but I bet I could learn. One of my favorite things to do is roll around on the couch and nuzzle under every blanket I can get under. I love, and I love hard, Please take me home!

Update 6/18- I was returned to the rescue because I did not get along with some dogs that I have met. It was also said that I have separation anxiety and that I have lunged at people/cars going by. So far, the caregivers have not seen this behavior at the rescue either time I have been here.

How do I act when I first meet new people: friendly

House trained:  Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours.  We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
