Ivey was found as a stray and taken to a NC shelter. Carolina Poodle Rescue took one look at her face and knew this under-weight little girl needed us! When Ivey joined our sanctuary program she barely weighed 5 pounds. Today, she weighs in just over 7 pounds!

Ivey is doing great and is a true LOVE BUG .  She continues to sleep a lot, but when awake, she will YELP...and continue to YELP for a while until someone picks her up to love on her!  We always try to respond when she yelps, loving on her.  She is a beautiful little girl, dark grey with a white chest and white tips on her ears, eyes, toes.

We are very strict with her diet.  Any changes or treats seem to upset her system.  She eats well but will frequently skip a meal.  We monitor this carefully.

We continue to keep her in a separate pen with pee pads.  This was her area as she recovered from her eye removal surgery and when we set her out with the other pets, she does not always seem to relax and explore.  However, we are doing this more and more frequently, so hoping she will get more comfortable.  If I move away from Ivey while she is out of her little pen area, she may get nervous?? and begin to tremble.

We continue to work with the yeast on her body/ears using medicated baths and ear drops.  It does seem to be better.

Ivey loves to be held and will sit at foster mom's feet.  She is a very special girl!

Can’t have a dog of your own? Have a soft spot for old, sick or hard to place dogs? It only takes a $20 a month donation for me to be your virtual dog! I need at least 10 virtual adopters (sponsors) to help cover my monthly costs.  If I have medical challenges I need even more! r having to leave your home, you can have your very own online dog that will send you update emails, make Facebook posts, and be eternally grateful for your support!  Go to the donate link at the top of the page for instructions as to how to donate.
