My Story

Date into Rescue: 8/5/18 - Hooch has been in foster care and the foster mom did not realize he was not up for adoption. She loves him so was not in a hurry

Reason for being in rescue: Pulled from a TN animal shelter

Special Needs: Hooch is an older guy who has a few issues. He has a pink mass on top of his head (it has been checked). He has no teeth. He has a 4/6 heart murmer and will be on daily meds for the rest of his life.  He takes lasix 12.5 mg 1/2 bid.   He also takes vetmedin 1.25 mg bid. Checking 1-800-petmeds lasix is .19 cents per pill and vetmedin is $46.79 for 50 pills.

What kind of home would be best for me: Hooch is an easy-going boy who is looking for a retirement home. He thinks People Are Cool. All People All The Time.  And he's looking for a person all his own for his golden years.

Like a warm body under the covers and snuggled next to you at night:  Hooch is YOUR PERSONAL SNUGGLE BUDDY!

What is my personality like: Hooch came to CPR when his owners passed away. Relatives were supposed to take care of the dog, but sadly didn't and he landed in a shelter in TN. A CPR staff member took one look at this boy and knew he was coming to our rescue!

Hooch is an adventurous guy who is young at heart. He loves loves to cuddle as close to his humans as possible. Have other dogs? Hooch loves them! Have cats: He is great with them too! Hooch loves to go for car rides. Hooch is very food motivated. He doesn't have any teeth so soft food and soft treats are necessary for this boy.  Hooch wants a family that will take him everywhere and never leave him again!

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly

Tips and Tidbits: The paperwork from the shelter stated that Hooch is 19 years old. We estimated he is closer to 14. If we went on energy and personality, this boy would be closer to 10! Don't let Hooch's age scare you - this boys has LOTS of love and live to share!

House trained: Per his foster mom, Hooch is mostly house trained.  Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
