My Story

Date into Rescue: 10/13/2018

Reason for being in rescue: Lucky was surrendered by his owners to a NC animal shelter when they could no longer provide the medical care he needed. CPR pulled Lucky from the local shelter.

Special Needs: Lucky has significant hair loss. He requires 1-2 medicated baths a week for his skin. Lucky will likely never have a full, soft coat of fur. He has some permanent hair loss, particularly on his face and ears. Lucky has terrible ears. Per our veterinarian, he is too old for surgical intervention. Our goal is to make him comfortable with regular cleanings and ear drops as needed.

What kind of home would be best for me: Lucky will be happiest as an only dog. He is living in an environment with other dogs and is okay with them, as long as they respect his boundaries. He would love a quiet home with a quiet life.

What is my personality like: Lucky's name says it all. This little boy is one lucky dog! Lucky happens to be able to find the most comfortable spots to take his naps before any of the other dogs get the chance to claim it. He is seemingly happy all the time and he will show you that with as he jumps for your attention.

Lucky is laid back and calm during most oft he day, but he can get active and playful with his people. For the human(s) that invest time with him, he will give you his entire heart. Lucky is very food driven and will loudly let you know when he hears or smells food. He also adores sunbathing.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Lucky is slow to warm up. Once he is comfortable with you he is the sweetest dog you will ever meet.

Tips and Tidbits: Lucky's estimated birthday is 9/28/2010.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
