Meet An Adoptable Dog
Breed: Poodle (Toy) (medium coat)
Weight: 16 lbs - Cherry needs to lose at least 3 pounds to get back to a healthy weight.
Height: 9 in
Estimated Birthdate: 10/23/2010
Fence Needed: No
Location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC
Reason for being in rescue: Cherry was surrendered by her owners to a local animal shelter. CPR pulled her from the shelter.
Special Needs: Cherry is spayed and UTD on all vaccines. She had a dental polishing on 8/28/20. At 16 pounds, Cherry is overweight and needs to lose about 3 pounds. She is vision impaired due to mature cataracts in both eyes. Cherry is looking for a retirement home.
What kind of home would be best for me: Cherry is a quiet senior girl. She is vision impaired. Given this, a home with few to no stairs would be best for her. She spends her days in rescue snuggled up with her best friend Zach Domino, one of our SOS dogs. We believe the warmth and companionship is comforting to her. Cherry is completely indifferent to cats. Cherry is looking for a home that has room in their heart for her - and if you don't mind a little old man who does not like to be picked up, Zach can go to! She's a quiet girl looking for a quiet home. She would love to be a quiet retiree's beloved companion!
What is my personality like: Cherry is a sweet senior girl. She prefers to spend most of her days sleeping. She gets along well with other dogs and loves to cuddle with them. Most days find Cherry snuggled up in a bed with another quiet, senior dog. Cherry walks well on a leash and will follow your voice. She isn't up for long, rigorous walks, but enjoys the warmth of sunshine on her back. Cherry is a wonderful dog for grooming.
Cherry is a simple girl looking for a retirement home. A warm bed, another dog to snuggle with, and lots of lap time is all it takes to make this princess happy!
How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly
Tips and Tidbits: Cherry's estimated birthday is 10/23/2010
House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.
Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
