My Story

Date into Rescue:  12/4/2019

Reason for being in rescue:  Owner surrender, health of owner

Special Needs: Nikolae comes with his BFF Chloe. They are a bonded pair and will only be adopted to a home with room in their heart for both special dogs.

What kind of home would be best for me: Nikolae needs a home where he can be the king. He picks one person (prefers women) and that is his person. He will not change his mind once he has decided you are his one and only. He will change his mind if he is not sure of you at first but it's going to take some effort on your part.

His person will need to have a lap and arms ready to hold him and Chloe together.  This is all he wants for himself and Chloe. A home with teens or adult only would be best for Nikolae. Please check out Chloe Marie's profile as well.

What is my personality like: Nikolae is a tiny dog with a Mastiff size personality. He will bark repeatedly until he gets what he wants, and usually it involves being held. He will work the room with his cuteness to make sure all eyes are on him. It's all about him! If he's not in your arms, he loves to sit in between your feet and in general be a part of all the action.

How do I act when I first meet new people: He will alert and circle the room. He will come check you out on his terms. However, if he is being held by his person, he will easily go to the new person's arms without complaint. He is happy to be held!

Tips and Tidbits: (4/11/2013) Nikolae and Chloe were a breeding pair. They have been with each other all of their lives. They have shown us their world can only include each other. They will sleep and eat together in their crate or they will eat together in the kitchen and sleep together with you in your bed. As long as they are together, it's all good.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
