My Story

Date into Rescue:  12/17/2019

Reason for being in rescue: Lovingly surrendered by owners

Special Needs: JJ had a major dental on January 3, 2020 and had 13 teeth extracted. His teeth are all clean, he has been neutered, and he and his friend Rocky are now ready for their forever homes.

What kind of home would be best for me: JJ is a busy boy on the go! He needs a home with his best pal, Rocky. These boys will do well in a variety homes. They have experience being part of a family with children. They would enjoy a home where he can keep someone company, have lots of attention and be a backyard prince.

What is my personality like: JJ is full of sunshine! JJ wears his smile everywhere, his mission in life is to turn frowns upside down.  He is always moving and exploring his surroundings.

JJ can walk on a leash. He sometimes chews at the leash. His attention span is very short. We offer treats for good manners such as sit, JJ prefers to have the treat instantly without the sit. JJ is indifferent to cats. JJ is pee pad trained. DSS would not allow his owner to keep a pee pad trained dog with foster children in the home. JJ is bonded to Rocky. We believe families should stay together when they clearly seek each other for companionship. Rocky and JJ have shown this to us repeatedly since they came to CPR.

How do I act when I first meet new people: He is thrilled to meet everyone! He would love to give you a kiss and a smile. JJ believes everyone in the room needs his sunny presence.

Tips and Tidbits: JJ's estimated birthday is 8/01/2011

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
