My Story

Date into Rescue:

Reason for being in rescue: Pierre was found as a stray in Eastern Tennessee. Pierre has been the prince somewhere and he knows it and will make sure you know it. He has lots of love to give, but on his terms. Pierre absolutely must be an adult-only home.

Special Needs: Pierre has an 3/6 heart murmur.  He does not need medications at this time.

What kind of home would be best for me: We are seeking a home with an experienced dog owner and someone who is home more than they're away.

What is my personality like: When Pierre came to us - he was truly a little ball of fire. Nothing slowed him down what so ever. He has mellowed a lot with age.  We've done several dentals on him and he now has about 3 teeth left.

Pierre did not trust many people at first until they bought his love with goodies but he's so much better about things now.  I still think he needs a strong dominant but patient person that will understand it's all about Pierre. In the meantime, we want to recognize and celebrate Pierre's SOS sponsors - JAMIE F, WADE S.  Thanks to these generous donors, Pierre's behavior challenges have been able to be studied and worked on. Her life was never in danger thanks to you.  Life is precious. All life.  Celebrate it. And learn from those who don't fit in - that is our SOS mantra.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Interested but you get to come to him.

Tips and Tidbits:  We've estimated Pierre's birthdate at 02/02/2007.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
