Meet An Adoptable Dog
Breed: Labrador Retriever / Cocker Spaniel / Mixed (long coat)
Weight: 45 lbs
Height: 18 in
Estimated Birthdate: 3/6/2012
Fence Needed: Yes
Location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC
Reason for being in rescue: Lovingly surrendered by owners
Special Needs: Sadie was heartworm positive when she arrived in rescue. She has been receiving slow kill treatment for 6 months and is now heartworm negative. She MUST be on regular heartworm prevention for the rest of her life.
What kind of home would be best for me: Sadie is a quiet girl looking for a quiet home. She would be happy with another calm dog. Sadie does not appreciate loud, overly active dogs. She is not good with cats. Daily strolls and plenty of hugs is just what this girl is looking for.
What is my personality like: Sadie and her friend Hawkins arrived in rescue when their owners could no longer care for them. She was a very shy, sad dog. We cannot blame her after losing everything she had known. As Sadie has settled into life at Dreamweaver Farms, her beautiful personality has really started to shine. Sadie has a sweet and gentle manner.
Sadie grew up in a home with her "sister" Hawkins. Hawkins has found her forever home and now it is Sadie's turn. She enjoys the company of other dogs, but it is not a requirement. She does not appreciate high energy dogs or dogs that bark in her face and will let another dog know to back off. Sadie is generally pretty low key. She gets an occasional burst of energy and will run a lap around the fenced fields while on a potty break. Otherwise she wants to be where people are and prefer to give love.
Sadie gives the best hugs. She is very gentle in her approach. If you're looking for a girl to share your heart in a quiet way, she'd love to be it!
Sadie is very sweet and gentle with people, would do good with kids or an older couple! She is all about the love!! She loves to hug but is gentle about it! She’s good with other dogs, even Sylvia who barks at her a lot, they have gotten into a few petty scuffles but have continued to get along for several weeks.
Sadie isn’t too active but loves a good run while she’s on potty break!
How do I act when I first meet new people: Cautious
Tips and Tidbits: Sadie's estimated birthday is 03/06/2012
House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.
Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
