My Story

Date into Rescue: 7/13/2020

Reason for being in rescue: Anna Grace was surrendered by her owners to a local animal service. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled her from a local shelter.

Special Needs: Anna Grace was spayed and had a dental on 8/4/20. She has flaky skin and some hair loss from allergies, most likely due to fleas. Anna Grace MUST be on quality flea & tick medicine for the rest of her life.

What kind of home would be best for me: Anna Grace is a beautiful, gracious dog full of life and ready for life with you.  She needs a couple committed to an active lifestyle. Anna will benefit from training with her new owners to continue to refine and improve her leash manners - she does really well on a front walk harness and will be sent home with one of her own. However, she already has sit and down very well mastered.  Anna can also be quite vocal so is not well suited to a townhome or condo lifestyle. We will not place Anna Grace in a with small dogs or cats.

What is my personality like: Anna Grace is a wonderful girl that has clearly been very loved. Sadly, her owners moved recently and could not afford to take her with them. She landed at a rural shelter and Carolina Poodle Rescue stepped up to help this beautiful, gentle young girl.

Anna is an amazing girl. She is super sweet and absolutely loves to be petted. Anna is a dog that gets along with everyone and everything. She enjoys meeting new people and sharing happy smiles and big tail wags. She gets along great with other large dogs. Anna needs experience working on a leash. She will pull, but is working on it.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly

Tips and Tidbits: Anna Grace's owners told the shelter she was between 2 and 3 years old.  We have given her a birthday of July 9 2017.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
