Biography

Why am I with a rescue group? Rocky was surrendered by his owners to a rural shelter. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled him from the shelter. He had surgery on 8/14/20 to remove a retained testicle that was cancerous. He also had a dental and lost 4 teeth. Rocky is a bit underweight. He also has hair loss and itchy skin from suspected flea allergies.

Rocky is a senior guy who likes what he likes and doesn't like what he doesn't like. All things are on his terms. He is a quiet boy who prefers to spend most of his days relaxing in his crate on a soft bed with the door open. This allows him the freedom to come and go as he prefers, on his terms. Rocky loves food and he will work for food when he is in the mood. You just have to remember that he can go from very loving to spicy in a matter of seconds. When Rocky is not in the mood or doesn't want to do something, he will try to bite.

Rocky is an independent soul. He doesn't mind other dogs, but really prefers being alone. He is indifferent to cats, primarily ignoring their presence. He walks well on a leash and will follow your voice. His favorite things are fuzzy beds and quiet space.

Rocky is a little like a sour-patch kid - he is equal parts sweet and sour. He is adoptable to the right home. He needs an experienced owner that is comfortable allowing Rocky to live on his terms. He is not a dog that you can pick up - he will snap at you. Rocky needs a quiet, low-traffic home where he can retire. He would prefer to be the only dog, but could live with other animals. Rocky will not be placed in a home with children; he will snap at them.

Sponsorship

Can’t have a dog of your own? Have a soft spot for old, sick or hard to place dogs? It only takes a $20 a month donation for me to be your virtual dog! I need at least 10 virtual adopters (sponsors) to help cover my monthly costs.  If I have medical challenges I need even more! r having to leave your home, you can have your very own online dog that will send you update emails, make Facebook posts, and be eternally grateful for your support!  Go to the donate link at the top of the page for instructions as to how to donate. Questions?  Email: cprsosdogs@carolinapoodlerescue.org

I love my Virtual Adopters! Rocky is looking for virtual adopters!
