My Story

Date into Rescue: 8/20/2020

Reason for being in rescue: hoarder case, Randolph County AS

Special Needs: Pebbles has some age related vision loss. She had a dental polishing on 9/8/20 and is ready for her forever home. Pebbles will not be adopted to a first time dog owner as she requires another dog in the home. She does shed.

What kind of home would be best for me: Pebbles is looking for a quiet, calm home with another dog. Underneath the shy exterior is a very sweet girl eager to gain affection. Pebbles is good with other dogs and with cats. She is not for a first time dog owner as she does require another dog in the home. Pebbles does shed.

What is my personality like: Pebbles came into rescue as part of a pack of dogs that were seized in a hoarding case. She spent far too long living at the shelter while her case was considered. After a lifetime of poor care and pack life, Pebbles is ready for her forever home.

As you may expect with a dog that has lived most of her life as part of a pack, Pebbles is shy and somewhat timid around new people until she gets to know you and knows you are safe and kind. She is definitely a dog that enjoys and needs the company of another dog. Our caregivers frequently find Pebbles snuggling with one of her canine sisters. This quiet, calm girl will also place her head on your lap for gentle pets.

Everything is new for Pebbles. Leashes are new. She is working on learning what they are all about, but will need continued training with a patient owner. She is shy for treats, but will eat them. For the family that gives Pebbles a chance, you will be rewarded with a beautiful, loyal soul that will give you her heart.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Shy but curious and gentle

Tips and Tidbits: Pebbles' estimated birthday is 12/12/2009

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
