Meet An Adoptable Dog
Breed: Pekingese / Poodle (Miniature) / Mixed (medium coat)
Weight: 6.4 lbs. Fiona is slightly underweight per our veterinarian.
Height: 9 in
Estimated Birthdate: 7/15/2012
Fence Needed: No
Location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC
Reason for being in rescue: owner surrender
Special Needs: Fiona has cataracts and is vision impaired. She had a dental on 9/2/20 and lost one tooth. FIONA WILL ONLY BE ADOPTED TO A HOME THAT WILL AGREE TO HAVE HER CATARACTS ASSESSED AND, IF OPERABLE, WILL HAVE THE SURGERY. SHE IS TOO YOUNG TO GO BLIND. THE ESTIMATED COST IS $3,500.
What kind of home would be best for me: Due to her small size, Fiona needs a home with no small children. She was surrendered due to snapping at a smile child who undoubtedly was attracted to her tiny size and big personality. Fiona could live with other dogs, but would also love to be someone's one and only princess. Due to size, Fiona will not be placed in a home with large dogs. She is indifferent to cats.
What is my personality like: All it takes is one look at Fiona with her cute under-bite and happy smile and everyone that meets her falls in love. She is as sweet as sugar and knows how to charm her way with the best of them! Fiona loves everyone. Humans, canines, felines, this girl does not discriminate. Anyone and everyone is a potential friend.
Fiona loves treats. She is super food motivated and will stand on her hind legs and do a dance for snacks. Her favorite pastime is sitting under the chair while her caregivers eat in hopes of a drop of food. Fiona is a cuddler. She loves to sit in a lap and loves to give snuggles. She has a playful personality that simply charms everyone.
Fiona is iffy on a leash. She strongly prefers to just be with you. If her forever home does not have a fenced yard, she will need leash work. The good news is she responds well to treats and affection and will work for both.
How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly
Tips and Tidbits: Fiona's estimated birthday is 7/15/2012
House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.
Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
