Meet An Adoptable Dog
Breed: Labrador Retriever / Poodle (Standard) / Mixed (long coat)
Weight: 65 lbs
Height: 20 in
Estimated Birthdate: 9/30/2008
Fence Needed: Yes
Location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC
Reason for being in rescue: Breeder release
Special Needs: Missy was spayed on 11/17/2020. She also had a dental polishing. Our vet noted that Missy has a small hematoma at the base of her left ear and a developing hematoma on her right ear. These did not require surgical repair.
What kind of home would be best for me: Missy is a wonderful girl that is learning what it means to be a pet. She is timid in new situations and with new people, no surprise given her life has been as a breeding animal. Missy's forever home has another dog in it for socialization and leadership. She would be fine with small or large dogs and with cats. Missy would be okay with older children that will go slow with her as she gets to know them.
What is my personality like: Missy has lived her entire life as a breeding dog. She gets nervous when she first meets new people, but once she is comfortable her personality really shines through! Missy has a personality as beautiful and deep as her gorgeous chocolate coloring.
Missy has always lived with other dogs. She is great with dogs of all sizes and also good with cats. She could live as the only dog, but would be happiest in a home with other dogs. Missy LOVES to be outside and sunbathe. She's spent lots of time outside in her life and really enjoys being outside with nature. Missy would love a family that enjoys being outside and will include her in their adventures.
Missy is impeccably crate trained. She is super food motivated; our staff jokingly refers to her as a vacuum cleaner. If there is food in sight she will suck it right up. Missy's breeding days are over. She's ready to settle down with a family and live her life as companion pet!
How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly
Tips and Tidbits: Missy's birthday is 9/30/2008
House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.
Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
