My Story

Date into Rescue: 10/23/2020

Reason for being in rescue: Lovingly surrendered by owners

Special Needs: Bella had a dental with 1 tooth that had to be drilled out on 11/18/20. She also had mammary tumors removed from her left and right front mammary glands. Bella has chronic allergies. These have displayed as an enlarged vulva, inflamed skin, and infected ears. Her ears and skin are being treated for infections.

What kind of home would be best for me:  Bella could go to a variety of environments. She would be very happy as the only dog, but could happily live with other dogs. She loves to go for short walks, but at this point in life is not up for being a hiking companion. Bella is a couch potato who's looking for a quiet lifestyle. We do not recommend her for a home with children as she will snap if pushed to do something that isn't on her terms.

What is my personality like:  Bella was surrendered by owners when he could no longer care for her. She is a sweet, loving senior girl. Bella loves everyone and everything as long as they respect her space and don't get in her face while she's eating. She loves to eat, loves to sleep in the sun, and loves people. Bella is an easy going girl who does life on her terms.

Bella walks well on a leash. She is living with other dogs and is completely fine with them. She will sniff the cats, but walks away without engaging. She knows some basic commands and is very treat motivated. Bella typically stays to herself and doesn't play with other dogs. Bella DOES NOT like to be picked up and will snap at you if you try to pick her up. She prefers to come to you and sit beside you.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly

Tips and Tidbits: Bella of Anderson's estimated birthday is 10/23/2008

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
