My Story

Date into Rescue: 11/12/2020

Reason for being in rescue: Puddles was surrendered to a NC shelter when her owners moved and decided not to take her. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled her from the shelter.

Special Needs: Puddles is spayed, up to date on all vaccines, and heartworm negative. She is in great overall health for a dog her age.

What kind of home would be best for me:  Puddles perfect home will understand that age is just a number. This beautiful senior girl is full of personality and love. We have yet to meet a person or dog that Puddles doesn't love and that doesn't love her right back. Puddles would be happiest as the only dog or with another small dog. She's indifferent to cats. She LOVES to be where the action is and is seeking a home where someone is home during the day. Short walks and plenty of Netflix time are just what this girl needs!

What is my personality like: Princess Puddles is a 12-year-old senior with some serious pep left in her step. Currently in foster care, she lives with an ever-changing motley crew and takes it all in stride. While she gets along with everyone, foster mom thinks she would be happiest as someone's number one lap dog. She is most confident around small dogs, though she is currently living with a large dog in foster.

Talk about soft! You will enjoy loving on and petting this sweet girl as much as she will. Puddles like to follow you around and be very involved with the household affairs. She like a cute shadow with a constant wagging tail. Puddles loves everyone she meets, and they all love her back instantly. Even though she is a senior, she still enjoys going on walker.

While Puddles prefers sleeping in the bed with her foster family, she will also crate herself and stay there happily overnight or while you are out. Her foster parents report she will literally nose the crate open and then pull it closed with her tail. This happy, wonderful girl is ready to be someone's companion!

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly - Puddles loves everyone!

Tips and Tidbits: Puddles' estimated birthday is 10/13/2008. This date is based on the age her owners provided the shelter when she was surrendered.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
