My Story

Date into Rescue: 11/17/20

Reason for being in rescue: Owner release/owner going into assisted living

Special Needs: Addy is highly allergic to fleas - she must have good flea control year round. She may also have other allergies.  Her new family will watch her carefully for seasonal or food related changes and adjust accordingly. Addy was spayed and had a dental polishing on 11/27/20. She is now ready for her forever home. ADDY DOES SHED.

What kind of home would be best for me: Addy is accustomed to a stay at home person and she misses that. Addy's forever home has someone at home during the day (work-from-home family, home-school family, etc.). She is a young, active dog who is looking for a more active than lazy lifestyle. Addy can be needy and wants your undivided attention. She can be a little testy when other dogs enter her space. Given this, she is best suited to be the only dog in her forever home.

Addy is looking for a family that that will see past her sometimes shy exterior for the heart this girl is looking to give her family. Addy does shed.

What is my personality like: Friendly and sweet, Addy is longing for a home again. She loves to climb up into our bedding storage areas and find a soft spot to snuggle down in. The job Addy wants is BFF. She is a happy, affectionate and loving little girl who years for a family of her own. Her goal in life is to be your best friend, your go-to girl, the one you want to spend time with.

Addy can bee shy in her own way. She is not a dog that we see doing sports or even being a therapy dog. Though she can be shy, when she's with family, with those she loves, she's everything you're looking for and a family pet. She is energetic, playful, and loves to be held and cuddled. Addy is food motivated - and can get quite vocal about meal times.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly

Tips and Tidbits: We do not know Addy's exact birthdate but her owner thinks she is about 5 years old. We've given Addy the birthdate of 11/15/15 based on this information.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
