Beast came to rescue after his family welcomed a new baby and the challenges of managing a senior, hospice dog and a newborn were overwhelming. He has been much loved throughout his life.
For 14.5 years, Beast is surprisingly full of personality. He loves feeling the sun on his skin. He is a cuddle man that wants to be close to you. He happily makes laps around the fenced yard in his foster home. And he eats like a champ!
Beast has many older-man related challenges. He is vision impaired. His previous owners had his eyes assessed in hopes the cataracts could be repaired. Sadly, Beast has retinal degeneration so surgery is not an option. Beast is also hearing impaired. He has some incontinence due to age, which is easily managed with belly bands. Finally, Beast has advancing dementia.
Beast is considered a fospice dog. We are loving the heck out of this boy to ensure his final days are as love-filled as his first days!
Can’t have a dog of your own? Have a soft spot for old, sick or hard to place dogs? It only takes a $20 a month donation for me to be your virtual dog! I need at least 10 virtual adopters (sponsors) to help cover my monthly costs. If I have medical challenges I need even more! The caregivers at Carolina Poodle Rescue will do the rest. Just think, without ever having to leave your home, you can have your very own online dog that will send you update emails, make Facebook posts, and be eternally grateful for your support! Go to the donate link at the top of the page for instructions as to how to donate. Questions? Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
