My Story

Date into Rescue: 9/15/2020

Reason for being in rescue: Surrendered by owners

Special Needs: Ellie was spayed on 12/14/20. She is up to date on all vaccines and heartworm negative. All of her puppies have been adopted and it is her time now. IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANOTHER YOUNG, ACTIVE MEDIUM TO LARGE DOG AND AREN'T VERY ACTIVE, ELLIE IS NOT YOUR DOG.

What kind of home would be best for me: Ellie is young and active. She needs a family that can keep up with her energy and personality! Ellie is looking for a home with another active medium to large dog to play with and a younger couple to be in charge of (cats are okay too). She'd be great with kids over 8. She is quite bossy when she wants something and needs strong, confident owners to continue to learn from. Ellie needs LOTS of exercise and play time. She absolutely hates to be left and is best suited for a home where someone works from home or is home during the day.

What is my personality like: Ellie arrived in rescue very pregnant. She gave birth to 5 beautiful puppies, all of whom have found their forever homes. Now it is Ellie's time to shine!

Ellie is an extrovert! She is outgoing with people and dogs and never meets a stranger. She is highly active and needs lots of physical and mental stimulation on a daily basis. She can be bossy when she really wants something, but really loves and seeks out other dogs.

Ellie has been in a foster home for 3+ months. She's learning all about being a well-mannered pet. She walks well on a leash. She loves to ride in a car. She is doing exceptionally well with potty training and will wait at the back door when ready to go out. She knows sit and is learning stay. Ellie is extremely food motivated and will work for treats. She sleeps peacefully in a bed full of dogs at night and is as soft, squishy and sweet as a cupcake!

Ellie is young and curious. She is mischievous and needs someone to watch her closely. Left to her devices Ellie will counter surf and empty trash cans. Foster mom is working hard with her on this, but to Ellie this is still a game. She can also climb  4 and 6-foot fences and will dart out a door if she thinks you are leaving without her.

Ellie is a young dog who is really just getting to learn what being a dog is all about and she loves it! She is full of personality and puts a smile on every face she meets!

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly

Tips and Tidbits: Ellie's estimated birthday is 12/9/2016

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
