My Story
Reason for being in rescue: Robyn was found as a stray
Special Needs: Robyn was spayed on 1/7/21. She is up to date on all vaccines and heartworm negative. Robyn is ready for her forever home!
What kind of home would be best for me: Robyn is young, active, and learning to be a pet. She needs a patient, active family that will continue to work with her. Robyn needs basic training and continued work on crate training. Robyn is good with other dogs and will benefit from another active, well-mannered dog in the home to learn from. She will not be placed in a home with cats. No children under 10 for this girl; Robyn simply plays too rough.
What is my personality like: Robyn came to us via the family of a team member. She didn't get along with the other dog in her home, and one of them had to go. While we are sad it was Robyn, we are happy to be a part of this girl's journey. Since joining our rescue family in December of 2020, Robyn has been learning the basics. She is working on crate training, leash training, and general basic commands. She has a lot of personality and is eager to learn and please.
Robyn is a young dog with a big heart. She is not yet clean in her crate, but is really trying. Crates have clearly not been part of her life in the past and we know it takes time. Robyn loves people and gets very excited to see them. She will mouth and chew on arms to get attention, a behavior that we are working with her to improve. Robyn loves food and will eat anything you put in front of her.
Robyn is selective about dogs. She is doing better and better with other dogs although there are still a few she does not like. Then again, I don't like every person I meet either. Do you: She is happy and playful and eager to engage. In her home she did not get along with the other dog. Overall fit will be important.
How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly
Tips and Tidbits: We have estimated Robyn's birthday at 12/23/2019. Robyn was found as a stray. This is purely an estimate based on her overall health and condition.
House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Potential Adopters
Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.
Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
