My Story

Date into Rescue: 1/5/2021

Reason for being in rescue: He and his mom, Millie June, were dearly loved by an owner that passed away

Special Needs:  Freddie is neutered, up to date on all vaccines and heartworm negative. Freddie has a 2 out of 6 heart murmur that does not require any medical intervention.  At a recent dental 8 teeth were removed, but he still has plenty for chomping on a  treat. Freddie will need regular dental maintenance and care. Freddie and his mom Millijune are a bonded pair. They will only be adopted to a home with room in their heart for both.

What kind of home would be best for me: Freddie and his mom Milliejune are a bonded pair. We are looking for a home that has room in their heart for both. If you are not looking for 2 dogs Freddie is not your dog!

Freddie needs a forever place where his owners are there a good portion of the day.  We are seeking a family  that is mostly quiet with few visitors, as Freddie and his mom, Millie June are very peaceful and new people make them a bit nervous. Freddie needs someone to be his snuggle buddy; he is a love bug and wants to share your lap, your bed, your arms, and your heart.  A yard to sun in or a sun porch to warm him, would make him quite happy. .  He is not seeking adventure or much exercise.  Freddie would appreciate someone with some chihuahua experience.  This boy is a submissive little dog that cannot and will not defend himself readily.  He will need to be in a home with no other dogs other than Millie June or small, older, submissive dogs like his mom.

What is my personality like: Freddie is calm and quiet.  He rarely barks.  This little boy wants to be as close to you as possible, even putting his head on your shoulder and closing those warm brown eyes.  Freddie will share bunches of  kisses with enthusiasm.  He can be a little shy at your first approach but once in your arms or on your lap, relaxes quickly.

How do I act when I first meet new people.  Shy at first.  He needs time to trust you and acclimate to his environment.

Tips and Tidbits: Freddie's estimated birthday is 1/5/2015

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
