My Story

Date into Rescue:1/1/2021

Reason for being in rescue: Linkin was found as a stray and landed at the shelter. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled him from the shelter.

Special Needs: Linkin is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. On 3/23/21 he had surgery to remove a tumor right above his stomach. A histopathology was conducted and noted the growth as a well-differentiated neoplasm of muscle. The report did note that the lesion was removed with clear margins but should be closely monitored in case of recurrence.

What kind of home would be best for me: Linkin is anyone's dog. He loves people and loves creatures big and small. He is a social butterfly who is enjoys being the center of attention. He'd be great with another dog or cat, or happy as your only. He would love to go on adventures, but will be equally happy staying home with you.

What is my personality like: Linkin is a very special boy. He came to Carolina Poodle Rescue as a stray. He was thriving for a few months, but then took a turn. He was unable to hold food down and we suspected it may be an allergy, but it turns out he had a tumor right above his stomach making him constantly be unable to hold down food. After his surgery he became happy and better again.

Linkin now has an obsession with food.  He will follow you if he smells any type of food. He does not have many teeth so he requires soft foods. He loves being snuggled and having attention. Despite his rocky start, he has a bubbling personality and is very vocal about his wants and needs. Likin loves attention and snuggles and would make a perfect lap dog. He has a look he’ll give you that will make you want to give him anything he asks for! He easily adjust to his surroundings so he’ll slide into his new home with ease. He does well with his leash manners and he is clean in a crate! He’d be perfect with other dogs around or even by himself if given enough time and attention!

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly

Tips and Tidbits: Linkin's estimated birthday is 12/28/2010. He was found as a stray so we have no background or history. This age is a guess based on his overall health and condition.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
