Meet An Adoptable Dog
Breed: Shih Tzu (medium coat)
Weight: 13 lbs
Height: 12 in
Estimated Birthdate: 4/23/2012
Fence Needed: No
Location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC
Reason for being in rescue: Patty was pulled from a local shelter.
Special Needs: Patty is spayed, up to date on all vaccines, and heartworm negative. She is highly flea allergic and must be on regular monthly prevention. She also has dry eye and will need to be on Cyclosporine eye drops for life.
What kind of home would be best for me: Patty is a low key girl. She would be great for quiet retirees that will be happy with a lower energy dog. She doesn't need long walks. Patty's requests are simple - a warm, bed, food, and plenty of love. She would be happy as the only dog or with another quiet dog. She is indifferent to cats. Patty's forever home must be committed to daily eye drops. She does not mind getting them!
What is my personality like: Patty was originally surrendered to a local shelter. She was adopted out, but returned to the shelter a year later as a stray. We cannot imagine what her last year must have been, but know her spirit is happy and she is ready for a home that will love and cherish her for the dog that she is.
Patty is described by her caregivers as affectionate and loving. She follows her caregivers around throughout the day and wants to be where you are. She is great in a crate, recognizing it is a safe place. She also enjoys being held. Patty is low energy. She loves sunshine and loves to rest where she can feel the warmth of natural light. Patty is pretty independent. She wants to be where you are, but does not have to be touched all the time.
Patty is looking for a quiet home. She doesn't need long walks and isn't up for hiking. She'd be happy with short leash walks or a quick trip outside into a fenced yard. This sweet girl is ready to fill your home and heart with joy!
How do I act when I first meet new people: Quiet but friendly
Tips and Tidbits: Patty's estimated birthday is 4/23/2012. This birthday was estimated by her previous owners.
House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.
Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
