Meet An Adoptable Dog
Breed: Poodle (Miniature) / Mixed (long coat)
Weight: 15.4 lbs
Estimated Birthdate: 2/5/2007
Fence Needed: No
Location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC
Reason for being in rescue: Stray Guilford County
Special Needs: Brooklyn is neutered, up to date on all vaccines and heartworm negative. Brooklyn has a grade 2/6 heart murmur. Brooklyn had a major dental on 3/10/21 and lost 7 teeth. He also had a small wart removed from his eyelid. Brooklyn will need another dental in October of 2021 and annual dentals moving forward.
What kind of home would be best for me: Brooklyn is a beautiful boy with an unknown past. Life on the streets has made him a bit nervous and slow to trust. Brooklyn is looking for a quiet home with patience to earn his trust and space to let him have his independence. He would be happy as the only dog or living with another dog. Brooklyn is fine with cats. We do not recommend Brooklyn for a home with children. He needs time to warm up and sudden movements make him nervous and grumpy.
What is my personality like: Brooklyn's past is a mystery. He was found as a stray with a very dirty and matted coat. Grooming revealed a gorgeous chocolate poodle boy with soulful eyes. Brooklyn can be slow to trust with people he doesn't know, and will grumble if you push him too quickly. But once he knows you, he will give you his entire heart and cover you in snuggles.
Brooklyn loves to be outside in the sunshine. He is great on a leash and enjoys exploring new areas. He isn't overly active, but would be a great companion for daily strolls. Brooklyn absolutely loves his bed. Once he is finished playing and twirling in the sunshine he loves to come inside and snuggle up in his bed for afternoon naps.
Brooklyn does well with other dogs his size. He'd be happy as the only dog, or living with other dogs. If you are looking for a buddy to go on quiet strolls with, Brooklyn would love to be your partner!
How do I act when I first meet new people: Timid, but warms up
Tips and Tidbits: Brooklyn's estimated birthday is 2/5/2007. He was found as a stray so this is purely an estimate based on his overall health and condition.
House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.
Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
