My Story

Date into Rescue: 2/26/2021

Reason for being in rescue: Kadu was surrendered by his owners to a local shelter. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled him from the shelter.

Special Needs: Kadu is neutered, up to date on all vaccines, and heartworm negative. Kadu had a dental and professional ear cleaning on 3/17/21.

What kind of home would be best for me: We are seeking a home where this old soul can vacation and retire.  His owner will need to be experienced with large dogs and have no children at home or as frequent visitors.  Kadu does not require a lot of activity; he really would like for his forever home to be quiet and leisurely.  Think couch potato for this beautiful boy.

We do NOT know Kadu's 's exact heritage. We do know that Bosco is his son and Bosco looks very poodley.  The breeder had both Great Pyr/poodle mixes and Australian shepherd/poodle mixes.  Kadu does not shed and looks purebred but we have no way to know if he is.

What is my personality like: Kadu is a real lover once her decides you are the one for him.  He will take a walk with you, if you keep in mind it is going to be more of an amble.  He likes to stop and smell the flowers.  Kadu just wants and needs someone to love and someone to love him for the rest of his days.

Kadu needs another gregarious large dog in his home to show him how to be a good boy.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Shy at first but will warm to a love bug

Tips and Tidbits: Kadu's estimated birthday is 2/24/2014. This is an estimate based on his overall health and condition. We have had Kadu on a leash. Once we got him away from the hub bub of the farm and on a back trail, he actually walked well.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
