My Story

Date into Rescue: 2/26/2021

Reason for being in rescue: Breeder retired

Special Needs:  Ramsey is spayed, up to date on all vaccines, and heartworm negative. She had a dental polishing on 3/31/21. Ramsey is currently being treated for ear infection that is clearing up.

What kind of home would be best for me:  We are seeking a home that likes low shedding but does not have to have no shedding (Ramsey sheds a bit).  We're looking for a home that has another playful, large dog for her to romp with.  We do NOT recommend small dogs or cats in Ramsey's home.

What is my personality like: Ramsey is an absolute love bug.  She wants nothing more that getting love and attention from her humans.  Ramsey is high energy and active and she will let you know.  You need to be prepared for energy. She's a lot of fun.

Ramsey does not like crates although she is now sleeping in one and she is clean in her crate.  When you walk in to her cottage in the morning, she wants to be the first one out but much of this is so she can be with  you . She will need a yard to play.  Retired breeder dogs are often flight risks. She is okay on a leash but we don't know if she's ever gone on a neighborhood walk. This is a skill she would need to learn.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly and warm

Tips and Tidbits: Estimated birthdate 2/24/2017.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
