My Story

Date into Rescue: 3/30/2021

Reason for being in rescue: Surrendered by owners

Special Needs: Marigold is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. She is ready is forever home.

What kind of home would be best for me: Marigold is a shy girl with very little socialization. She is curious and wants to trust, it simply takes time. Marigold needs an experienced owner that can offer a calm environment and lots of patience. She would benefit from another confident dog in the home for play and for her to lead and learn from.

What is my personality like: Marigold is a true diamond in the rough. She is hesitant and timid and is just now figuring out that people can be really awesome to have around. Because of her fear of people she isn’t good on a leash yet and needs to build up trust with her people before attempting to go on walks around the block. But with that being said Marigold is also one of the sweetest girls you’ll ever find. She’s intelligent and catches on to things quickly (which makes routine in the home your best friend with her)

Marigold loves other dogs and happily follows there lead to know what to do, so another dog in the home is absolutely welcome. Even though through her shyness it’s evident she is more than willing to try and build up trust with people. She’s very curious about people and will slowly start warming up to them. She just needs time and effort (and lots of treats!). By Aussie nature she is a herder so she would be more than thrilled in a home that could provide an outlet for that behavior (outside actives like running in your yard, playing fetch, ect..). Puzzle toys would also be recommended to give her a mental workout!

Overall marigold is looking for a calm and patient home, one with a fence, with people that are willing to put in the time and effort to get her out of her shell. Kids are not recommend (she needs stability and a calm surrounding).

How do I act when I first meet new people: Hesitant and shy

Tips and Tidbits: Marigold's estimated birthday is 2/6/2013

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
